Sex Offender Of Children Arrested
Child Rapist Is Nabbed Aboard In Lifou
P & O Pacific Star - October 23, 2007
An unnamed man, age 43, has been arrested aboard the Pacific Star. He had been convicted on multiple counts of raping and sexually abusing children, when he boarded the Pacific Star as a sex offender, and failed to notify officials of his movements as required by Australian law.
The ship was docked in Lifou in the Loyalty Islands when police were alerted to the man.
Police say they intercepted the man who had been convicted of raping and fondling a dozen children before he had a chance to disembark the ship. The man, they say, works in Brisbane as an engineer.
The ship was on a seven-night voyage to New Caledonia, Vanuatu and the Loyalty Islands.
